>>53500729Well, the JN dub replaces even more of the OST than XY and SM. There are more episodes that keep only 0 or 1 piece of Japanese OST in Journeys than in any prior dubbed Series (yes, even Sun + Moon, not a joke).
The JN dub has more censorship than XY's dub did, same as SM/4Kids' era dub (why did TPCi bring back the one thing no one missed from the 4Kids dub, visual edits?).
The acting is pretty much subpar as usual, especially James, Brock, Misty, and Meowth these days.
They already brought back Steven in XY's dub, he sounds the same as in AG- no issue there. Paul same as in DP, fine. Lance, same as in AG, the clip they chose for Grayson on BTVA is beyond unfair IMO since that was his first line as the character in his first Johto ep which is nice guy COTD voice but he got pretty regal by the end of Johto and from there to JN he's actually the best dub Lance- only good thing about the dub right now.
The recurring cast isn't the worst of the VA work, it's the main cast + COTDs where the bad acting is coming from.
Oh, and also, JN's dub gave Ash's Bayleef a dub voice for the first time ever- fuck that, 4Kids was smart enough to keep Mika Kanai as its actress in Johto AND Hoenn-- even TPCi did in DP, JN has more Pokemon dubbed over unnecessarily than ever.
