What about this? a lot of critics on YT are praising it but I can't take them seriously most of them hailed the Resident Evil series and when it flopped they hid their shitty opinion up their woke-ass. Now Tolkien fans hate it without giving it a chance, due to not respecting the source material, so I can't trust the opinion of someone who is prejudiced in advance.

How did the normal public receive it?

Got Sun at launch, got past first totem thing and put it down as I didnt like the way it strayed from what I was used to. The year after i went and got Ultra Moon did the into and realised it was the same game. I plan on finishing at least one of them before S/V come out as im craving a mon game soon. Went through a short phase a few years ago of opening packs because it was fun for me, only got to play the proper TCG a few times because I had to convince friends to play against me and they weren't super interested

Only seen a few scattered episodes as a kid, here in the UK it was mostly reruns so it was hard to actually watch episodes in any kind of order, but I fondly remember a day when one channel decided to run a whole Advance Battles tournament arc over the course of a day
>physical merchandise
Very rarely, sometimes I'll trawl ebay and sort by "ending soonest" to see if there's anything cool I can snipe (picrel) but it's mostly just junk pokemon cards that I have to filter through.

He has every right to complain, for the people who didn't know well in advance that they're LITERALLY 0.3% base catch rate it's not very nice to see something rare and impressive looking only for it to instantly fuck off as soon as you attempt capture
They just sour the experience honestly, adding them to the game this way was not a smart move

It IS posdible, although I was talking about transferring it to other GBA games on the same emulator (I have all 5 Advance games on it) or maybe some ROMHacks if any are compatible.
Also from what I remember, don't the Elemental Monkeys kinda have crap movepools? I'd have to check.
My rule on Gift Encounters is that the Gift would qualify as the encounter for where I received it

IIRC you get the Elemental Monkey in that back forest area with the Munna, yes? It would be my encounter for the route.
I'll post my full personal ruleset, updated to make things less murky when I start up White tomorrow.

Yes, hackers that have assets made for them in advance, aren't expected to release an annual product to keep their locomotion going to avoid a major profit loss or pissing off a co-owner's shareholders, and are quite literally given a whole-ass game to build off of.

Episodes are written several months in advance (the production of an episode starts a year before the episode is ready to be broadcasted on TV. Animation alone takes 4 months to finish). The entire tournament was written before the first episode of the tourney aired. The breaks had no effect on Journeys, but they'll likely have an effect on the next series

The games aren't worked on until the day before release they're usually completed a few months in advance and then go through a debugging phase before having copies made, SV is most likely finished and in that phase right now. PLA development time was probably 3 years max.
