I'm assuming less than Serena being "too powerful" or anything like that, it was due to her looks as a whole being a spoiler. That and this episode was initially meant to air next friday, explaining why the TR episode got shilled before hers and why her magazine article came out only today. She was meant to be advertised in advance like everyone else, but the magazines couldn't just swap their articles or release dates that late.

The more these threads go, the more clear it gets that most of the Serenafags don't even watch the show. Otherwise, they would temper their expectations and realize that Serena's return is not that different from previous returns other than a suspicious lack of advance advertisement. We also already know that the focus of the episode will be Serena mentoring Koharu, so any interactions she will have will probably be limited at best. The episode could end up being more like Dawn's returns where she interacted with Koharu more than she did with Ash. If the Serenafags watched Dawn's episodes, they would have an idea about likely ways for the episode to play out.

The anime is not produced on a week to week basis, it's produced several months in advance, so they know what the games are going to do.

And the point still stands that Lyra wasn't depicted as a Kris redesign, she was depicted as an entirely new character.

Serenafags keep saying this shit, but it sounds like a massive cope. Popular characters reruns are generally promoted in advance to draw in people who don’t normally watch the show. That is what they did for Brock and Misty in SM, same for Gary and Dawn in PM.

I'm still of the opinion that they're keeping it as a surprise, possibly because they know how crazy things would get if they said it in advance. The "Reunion" part of the article makes no sense if it was referring to anyone other than Serena, and it being used to highlight Wallace would be dumb since no past gym leader ever had their "reunion" highlighted in an episode title.
