>>57498024yes mega timeline was a thing during the 3DS times.
RBY/GSC is the retro timeline
ADVance and DS is its own timeline and was kind of core timeline, as it had replacement versions of the events of RBY and GSC in FRLG/HGSS
but then Megas were explained to be this volatile energy flux phenomenon and they went to the trouble of remaking the whole pokemon setting into an official multiverse. tied into the lore of X and Y. When they remade Ruby and Sapphire, naturally it made the most sense to set it in the X and Y era. There was some purple haired girl who was like an agent? and the Rayquaza episode you like, save another timeline if I remember correctly.
I'm not sure what era we're in any more but its probably still the MegaTimeline and everyone except Kalos and, inexplicably, Hoenn nver bothered to discover megas (bad worldbuilding). I hoped Megas would just go away since theyre a can of worms imo. A headache for worldbuilding. But obviously if theyre gonna do another Kalos game, might as well set it in the Mega timeline and reference the events of X and Y. Itd be bizarre to show us a ADV/DS or GBC timeline version of Kalos.
it'd be way fucking cooler if they did that in my opinion, but I know I am in the minority on that. That giant AZ guy among other things already confirms mega timeline beyond any reasonable doubtsomeone who actually played SWSH, are we still in the Mega Timeline? I assumed so. Just seems odd that Galar wouldnt invade Kalos for their mega stones, theyre a huge advantage in pkmn battling.
Legends Arceus is in the past so it could be in any timeline. Although its not as if the timelines split off recently, to my understanding it was some ancient event in Kalos that incited it. gen 7 and 9 ignored the topic from what I remember
