Pokemon anime can continue fine with Ash, I mean many people probably would have enjoyed Ash becoming a Champion though the traditional way (Gym leader > E4 > Champion) and Paldea could do it since the region has multiple champion ranked trainer. New Protagonist is just risk specially considering how Alain and Goh turned out to be.

The way you argue says that Yajima lives in everyone's head rent free because he's "actually" doing the right job (just for you and your own shitty beings) when he literally ruined PokeAni and 3 of the movies. The biggest clues of Gen 6 being the worst are Serena being almost ignored, the staff not giving the XYfags an Ash vs Alain rematch, Ash-Greninja being retconned in newly animated flashbacks at that time, and bringing the OG gang back once again instead.

All Ash's companion moved on with their own dream but Manon is still stuck as Alain's pet, why? Because if Manon grow and move on with her goal then it will make Alain look uncool. Thus Manon need to be stuck as Alain's pet and cry for him to make him look cool. That how toxic protagonist Alain happens to be.
This is the entire problem with XY: a women can't be a character on their own.

Titles are not the deciding factor of your ability. I should not be able to travel to an uncharted island and declare myself the champion of the tribal peoples inhabiting it to recieve a +100 to my attack and +100 to my HP.

It felt more like a forced transition to me, I know she became champion in the unova sequels, but in the anime she was her own character with her own goal that she feels she hasn't reached yet in the same vein as how Ash views his goal, Sure she gets to be champion, but by extension she is the first champion to be defeated by Ash, and then again by Cynthia come the masters 8, which really makes me ask what the point was, just like bringing Alain back to hardly have him interact with Ash (and of course no AG vs MCX rematch...though if that was gonna happen it should've been out of the tourmament) where exactly is this vindication if her only purpose is to lose?

I also feel like her freedom as a character was taken from her by forcing her to be champion.
