Truth is, Ash using his reserves to beat many past trainer makes a better series than Horizon. In fact Ash's Seismitoad using Earth Power to defeat Alain's Mega Charizard X without any Gimmick would be a well earned karma since Earth Power and Blast Burn has similar animation.
