>General recsLets inject a little fanfic into this alleged fanfiction general. It's been a while since we've had some recommendation posts, so let's try to give some spotlight to the smaller fics you've been reading. Or writing, why not?
>Broken Thingshttps://www.fanfiction.net/s/13290110/1/Broken-ThingsSet in Aloha, follows three 'different' teenagers doing the island trial, spastic merging of the real world and the pokeworld with the author's political and social stances warping the very setting itself. Has trigger warnings and deals heavily with depression and LGBTQAIST+, which says it all.
I found it interesting to read in the 'what the fuck is this shit?' way, and you can't say that it's not different to the usual fare. Later chapters are really dragging on and meandering, but if you are bored it could be worth a shot.
>Pokewildhttps://www.fanfiction.net/s/14170884/1/PokeWildEngineering student lands in the pokemon world with the clothes on his back and a missing spine (figuratively, he's a stupid bitch not a cripple). Hides, scrounges, and picks berries until he's able to obtain the ultimate goal: a route 1 pidgey. Absolutely pathetic wet-noodle of a main character, and the fic is glacial in pacing. Still, if you are looking for a fic to scratch your 'Slow burn' and methodical training focus itch, this is probably the one.
>Blue Skies and Silver Liningshttps://www.fanfiction.net/s/13053691/1/Blue-Skies-and-Silver-LiningsFemale marine (PoG) sucked into portal, lives out pokemon fantasy while trying to return home. Gets injured a lot and bitches about plenty of small things, so is probably a very accurate representation of the standard marine. Region is Hoenn, and the characters of the pokemon (which she can speak to because of rare frequency hearing range) are entertaining. I'm not the biggest fan of the other human characters introduced in the last chapters though.
