Fun little difference I did notice is because the bulk of pokeshipping fanfics are written during the 2000s, the characters are often shown using minor offensive terms. Calling each other retarded or mentally challenged, Misty assuming Ash is gay and being disappointed by this. These are nearly entirely absent in the 100 amourshipping fics I've read because naturally they're all in the mid 2010s

Pokeshipping was killed by the anime turning cyclical. Amourshipping was killed because it only exists due to the anime being cyclical. Liko and Roy will not have this issue.
Even if they never end up together, they will always have had better odds than Ash

All I know is this is based on this whole "amour is more popular than our ships so we're gonna trash on it 24/7". This is what it all boils down to, not to mention I remember people liking AmourShipping in Japan compared to other countries. I'm 100% sure I'm talking to the 'JustCallMeAl3' guy.

MPM 02 has proven that what people truly wanted was another Misty/Dawn but prettier and cooler. Amourshipping died when Yajima tied to make a "Hinata" out of her. If he just made Serena more like Dawn but with a cooler & smarter personality than Amourshipping would have been the best ship but he decided to take inspiration from the one manga that is known for poorly developed female characters and romantic plots.

I'll never understand people that got into any Ashnime ship that isn't Ash and Misty or Jessie and James. The human characters after the first generation are so expendable that everybody should have expected that they'd never have any actual importance again after leaving in any sense including shipping. Both Contestshipping and Amourshipping are proof of this: pushed heavily during their generation then never referenced again in any subsequent generation because not only did the ships not matter anymore, but the three non-Ash characters within them as well.

It's like the XYfags that got REALLY into Greninja and expected him to stay relevant after his series. Just a complete lack of awareness of how the franchise works, from people who talk about it all day every day.

I already figure that Ash's dad would have appeared by now for sure.
Pokeshipping or amourshipping would end up canonized. (I learned recently that DC started pairing raven and beastboy together in all media due to all of the internet shipping after the cartoon)
