Also its stupid that you think Ash should only battle champion tier trainer like Leon. Truth is that there are still trainer that I want Ash to defeat even if they are the weakest trainer in the world such as Alain, Cameron. AJ, Drew, Kenny, Tobias, Palmer, Amethio and many more. Also its even stupider that you think Ash has to struggle in every fight. In fact Ash oneshoting Amethio's Ceruledge with his Pikachu would be more enjoyable than Ash struggling against him like Friede.
Furthermore Pokemon trainer does not have super power since its their pokemon that does the fighting so the pokemon trainer strength depends on his team. If Ash goes to challenge Brassius with a roaming forn Gimmighoul than he is struggle and might actually lose even if he is the world champion.
