Ian's kinda just floated along the sidelines and hung around all the other characters that actually get stuff done this whole time. Kai stopped Vyro's plan, the elite four beat the terrorists, Moira helped Lexie face his trauma, but Ian was just kind of there.
Meanwhile Miles, Molly, and even Harley and Garth have been actually doing something. Defeating terrorists, helping the injured, adventuring, they've accomplished things. Ian just hangs around people who accomplish things while doing next to nothing by himself.
That's my one complaint with the story so far, Ian doesn't do much.
