this cutscene complaint never made sense to me. it's the people complaining about this actively avoided as battling as many trainers and catching wild pokemon as possible throughout the game
>>54079454>>The majority of area design is extremely linear without interesting branching alternate routes.this isn't true. there are in fact several locations on the first island that are completly optional like hau'oli cemetery, kala'e bay, and melemele sea. most of the surfing locations throughout the game in fact are optional
>you can't do any meaningful explorationcatching pokemon, battling trainers, and collecting items exclusive to those areas isn't meaningful to you?
>Game Freak started to relent on this after Sword and Shieldand the switch games are all the worst games in the series. they don't even allow you to have every pokemon on one cart anymore, you can't turn off the exp share, and now with SV you can't even turn off shift mode and battke animations. people harp on USUM for not adding new content when in reality it makes many meaningful changes like adding a new minigame for BP farming, a new battle facility, move tutors, an extra totem boss, making mount lanakila more like a proper victory road, etc. meanwhile BDSPiss is so similar to DP that they even copied the Suction Cups bug. anytime BDSPiss does change something, it's typically a negative like forced exp share. the only good thing that game added was gym reamtches. "muh linear" autism does automatically dictacte whether a game is good or bad
