The "second main character" thing is so blatantly obviously a marketing thing because they got cold feet about having a series with a female lead. Roy gets about as much plot focus as Iris did in BW, and nobody ever argued she was totally a main character.

It's not THAT similar, and as others have mentioned, everyone knew the episode would be about rescuing the Six Heroes.

It's similar to that fake "Ash VS Iris" title some faggot made up in 2020 and Bulbapedo fell for; everyone knew some kind of Ash VS Iris episode was right around the corner at that point, and the real title for their battle episode was fairly similar to the fake one.
