>>54048218I had a rough end to my day, thanks for making this thread. It helped calm me down.
>>54047799>>54049101I suppose I'll join in with my experiences with every generation. I was poor as a kid so I didn't get many games, but I always got the pokemon games when they came out. All the older ones were secondhand.
>gen 1I only ever had yellow, but I remember loading up the previous owners save file and being in a little Grove south of Fuscia city I think. I was stuck in there between two cut trees and I thought that was the whole game. When I started a new game for the first time I was blown away.
>gen 2Gold and silver were 2 of my first 3 video games ever. I still have the old cartridges (picrel). Favorite generation because of nostalgia and setting. Johto has so much soul and the ost is in my top 5 video game OSTs. Rest in peace Typhlosion, I will always miss that save file.
>Gen 3I got sapphire secondhand from my sister, they found it in the house they moved into. I don't remember much, but I loved the contests. I also remember having an enormous crush on May when I was 7 or so.
>gen 4Never owned platinum, but I did own diamond. Never beat it either. All my ds games got stolen before I could.
>gen 5Black 2 is my 2nd most played game of all time. I got it on release and I played it so much. It felt like no matter how much I played it there was always something to do. Be it finding random NPCs from other games just hanging out, the world tournament, or stumbling across legendaries in neat areas I happened across. I recently got my old DSI fired up and I'm playing through a copy of Black 1 I got off a friend. The music almost made me cry.
>gen 6I liked the megas. Other than that, not too fond of kalos.
>gen 7Pokemon sun is responsible for me staying up all night trying to find that 1% encounter Bagon while reading Mallow fanfiction, and my first fistfight. Some dickhead kicked my backpack and broke the screens on my 2ds. I became a man that day
