I would play Crystal over HGSS any day, purely because Stadium 2 is far better than anything that HGSS offer. I definitely liked it as a kid and I had my Pokéwalker everywhere, but these days I much prefer the QoL improvements and general metas that have been released as of late and how easy it is to train. Also, do you know how hard it is to find people online that are still interested in playing HGSS but also don't cheat for stats and moves? It's ridiculous and also was never how you were supposed to play the game to begin with. Pokémon has always, ALWAYS been about multiplayer at its core, and I will take a more active game in a recent gen over an older gen any day of the week.
