Finals will be 4 (well, 3 and a half because the last half of ep 4 will be congratulations and temporary farewells) episodes and PM will officially end on Nov 11th. There will be no break after that because it's just a new season of PM, and we already had a lot of breaks prior to this one along with recaps. However, the next ep is going to be a recap and semi-intro to the world of Paldea. Ash and Goh will continue their journeys, along with Koharu and Dawn, where they'll be exchange students. Ash and Dawn will be in the Scarlet school, while Koharu and Goh will be in the Violet school. See you on November 25th.

Goh's justified reasons to stay:
1. Not tied down to Gens because he's an Anime OC
2. His goal/dream of "catching them all" is similar to Ash's "Pokémon Master" dream/goal
3. Goh has Ken Sugimori as his backing, just like Ash.
4. PoGo indirectly bringing profits for TPC
5. Has another starter, Froakie (Gen 6) proves he can get starters from other Gens

Koharu's justified reasons to stay:
1. Eevee shill
2. Anime OC with many possibilities of paths she wants to take

Pretty much. I wouldn't rule out Goh and Koharu staying, but I don't understand why people assume PM as a concept continuing means Goh+Koharu stay. For all we know, PM could continue but Goh and Koharu get replaced by new characters. Would it make sense? Who knows, but it's just as possible as Goh and Koharu staying.

Giving Eevee to Koharu solved the whole "how do we give Koharu more focus?" problem. Goh likely wouldn't have been able to shill Eevee as much due to him having the Galar starters, and plus too, it would've been harder to show off the evolutions of Eevee using Goh, given his PM missions, field research assignments, and accompanying Ash to all his matches. Goh already had plenty to do; Koharu didn't.

If October is really mostly break/recap month, what will happen to Ash vs Leon? Will it get cut short to be ready for SV promotion, or will they continue well into the SV release time? Whether we get a new series, or just a new region for the PM setup, you'd think brand synergy to promote the newest game will win the day.

One slight addendum to the Tomiyasu thing. While technically a demotion, I think what really happened was him directly taking the reins. He moved from the Executive Director (broad oversight) to the Series Director (direct control). The one who really got demoted here was Jun Owada, who went from Series Director to a mere Assistant Director. However, given that the current state of PM is mainly due to Tomiyasu insisting on forcing his episodic SM pacing onto a narrative-based format and setting, I would say that him no longer being Executive Director is a sign he won’t be returning in a directorial role next series.

But at the same time, I get why it makes so little. This is a genuine kusoge and while it is fun and easy to blame Dena I hold zero doubt in that a big part of the blame is on TPC and its mandates limiting any type of creativity, specially in terms of writing.
