Sometimes it feels like if PM just wanted to be yet another soft-reboot but some suit didn't let them do it but the suit didn't have THAT much power so he could only get them to do the bare minimum.

PM's schizophrenic as fuck. The series feels like it has "changed formats" like three times so far. And from what we know from interviews and what-not? That's not that far from the truth. They seriously had no idea what they were doing and even now at the end of it all it still feels like that.
