Normally Ash would have two companion with limited number of Pokemon to interact with his pokekmon, he travel all the way to his destination while meeting new people on the way, Team Rocket attacked him on almost every episode, fought eight gym leader and various new rival.
Compare to that PM Ash has only one companion with so many Pokemon that he does not have a specific team to interact with Ash's team, he uses public transport to directly go to his destination, Team Rocket barely attacks him anymore, oddly it feel like Ash fought less people than eight gym leader on PWC and there was nobody that worth calling a rival on PM series to have multiple battle like Paul and Barry.
