Ash is not flawless and he never meant to be flawless. He is clumsy, prideful, rush, boastful, dense, and gets carried away easily and makes silly mistake. There is nothing wrong with having friends that call out on his mistake because that's what actual friends do. Good example would be how Gwen and Kevin call out on Ben on Ultimate Alien.
Remember I never said that Ash is go back to being a noob because he does not need too. There are other aspect of his personality that the show has removed that is part of his character and would be with in him no matter how much developments he gets.
