Who said anything about unbeatable? She is just above Ash, as are the other champions beside Iris. Ash was never portrayed to be on their level prior to PM. It was nice to see him win, but build up was non existent.

this isn't tomiyasus fault, if the execs actually care about the production ( they really don't, they just want weekly episodes that introduce the franchise to nip toddlers ) they would just invest more money into the show and give OLM a reason to transfer staff to pokemon
interest was revitalized in the anime thanks to SM and the new formula PM introduced. the soul was also restored

Yeah, PM being a 3-parter is a reasonable guess. I'll definitely take that over it just being a 2-parter (man that would be underwhelming!), though obviously I'd prefer more, being the greedy bastard that I am, lol.

That's one of the reasons I'm hoping the next episode isn't the conclusion to PM, and that 135 is PM too, so that we potentially have a little more time to pull back some of these characters' layers. Alternatively, I'm also fine with 135 being a recap, and 136 and 137 both being PM episodes, with 137 concluding the PM storyline ahead of the break at the end of December.

That's probably more wishful thinking than anything, though, lol.

I can see why you would've thought that at the time. Initially, all three did give off some suspicious vibes, but now I only feel that something might be off with the professor. I just wish we would've gotten more PM episodes, so that we could've gotten a better feel for these three, and learned more about their backstories and possible motives. There was real potential for intrigue and adventure with the PM storyline, and it could've given us something never done before in the anime, but sadly PM19 didn't devote nearly enough time to this storyline.

Well... that's a new one, at least. Asahi doesn't strike me as the evil type, but I could see the professor having ulterior motives. Sure wish we would've gotten more PM episodes so all these characters could've had their backstories explored better and be given more depth. PM should've been a much bigger storyline in PM19 as it really had so much potential and could've been unlike anything done before in the anime.

It seemed to me that they were kind of tiptoeing around the idea in PM because they were pushing this whole "underdog" thing so that Ash and Leon's dynamic made sense. So they didn't really want to lean into it for a while, but then decided once the Masters Tournament members were finalized to shill him as the Alola Champion. Given how heavily they advertised him becoming World Champion, I don't think they can really pretend it didn't happen going forward.

They need to show both colors of the school and as well as both Legendary pokemon they can't do that if its just ash ever since JN OLM has find a way to show BOTH legendary pokemon now with the two protag idea and they can't do that if its just Ash.

Why does /padt/ want the series to continue so badly? It's not even a case of "I think the series is continuing", it's more like /padt/ WANTS it to continue and cherry picks any hint of it happening while ignoring hints of it not happening. The reality is that, unless we get confirmation either way, we just don't know for sure whether or not it's continuing, but /padt/ is insisting that it is continuing and is shooting down any thoughts of it not. Why?

I wouldn't believe this at first, but the fact that everything in that TR short was still in the same artstyle as Journeys, with the same background music and tone of Journeys just makes that feel like a possibility now, unless they just change the artstyle completely.
