Ballonlea is this otherworldly, fae village that you need to travel through a creepy forest to reach. I fucking love the atmosphere here, and it's basically ruined when you notice the same fucking copypasted giant commercial gym stadium situated in a tiny woodland village. It's pretty emblematic of swsh itself, having no vision and reflexively reusing shit like gyms and CHARIZARD from KANTOOOOO with no thought or substance.
Awful performance, awful writing, awful content, awful gameplay, and unfinished. The music is also uniquely bad, which is shocking. Most of the tracks are good, but for whatever reason they decided to make the music you hear the most (Wild Battle, Trainer battle, gym final mon) be very fucking grating. Toby Fox's mpreg battle tower music is leagues above this shit.
Swsh is genuinely fucking terrible. I came away from recently replaying XY and U/SM with new appreciation for them but I came out of this hating SWSH even more. I would still encourage OP to beeline through it just to see how godawful it is, it doesn't take very long considering how empty the game is. I am never going to take anyone who defends SWSH and somehow complains about SV, actually decent games, seriously.
