Original characters are always iconic and bring more profits as shown with original Digidestined's popularity over their replacement on Digimon . Misty and Brock are more beneficial than other companion specially if they maintain their original personality & dynamic. Ash's homebase is Vermilion city on Kanto which means Misty and Brock can return as supporting character like Team Rocket Trio as long as they has a flying pokemon as their ride pokemon.
Ash , Goh and Chloe's dynamic is not good enough to carry the show. The studio should acknowledge this now and use Misty & Brock as their secret weapon.
