You can do whatever you want but saying "Satoshi" shows that you do not appreciate the 4kids/TPCi era legacy of the Pokemon anime which the whole fan community discourse is founded on. So you're kinda saying that you don't want to be a part of the discussion? I mean I don't care THAT much either way but it just irritates me for some reason.
I feel like my childhood is being stolen when I see people calling Ash "Satoshi" in English (if that makes sense).
But. I don't feel the same way about Koharu being called Koharu because that's what everybody called her from the start. On the other hand, calling Ash "Satoshi" feels like pointless revisionism. Nobody ever called him that, it feels wrong on a linguistic level, like a grammar mistake...damn I'm approaching Scott levels of cringe but this is what I believe in.
