Its a drag but there are some classics in there like the Lugia saving arc and Orville the Pidgey. Its still leaps and bounds better than anything that comes later

The rebellion was going to happen with Pokemon who were already integrated with humans, not with wild Pokemon, so it wasn't a humans vs nature idea. Shudo depicted wild Pokemon and caught Pokemon as being completely different. There's a scene in his novel where a caught Pokemon tries to interact with some wild Pokemon, and the wild Pokemon keep away from him because they sense that he's different and scary. Shudo also said it would have been an organized rebellion, specifically referencing Spartacus, a rebellion of humans against humans, not a rampage of animals against humans.

The rebellion idea didn't stem from things like the OP. Takeshi Shudo clearly didn't view Pokémon as people, for example he didn't want subtitles for the episode where the Pokémon are stranded because he thought it would be too humanizing and would strip away the aspect of Pokémon as separate creatures from humanity by anthropomorphizing them. At one point he mentions he didn't like writing tears into his scripts for Pokémon because animals don't cry although he recognizes that by necessity Pokémon have to be anthropomorphized to some degree.

In Shudo's framework he saw the relationship between humans and Pokémon as humans taming nature because of the battle and capture aspect, not because Pokémon were treated as pets. He at one points mentions that Pokémon is a series about capturing and enslaving animals to fight on the behalf of humans. Indeed the Dingglet episode of the anime was made to foreshadow when nature doesn't bend to humanity's whims.
