Overall a very solid core staff list.
>Director: Saori Den
Fairly new to helming a series, but plenty of experience storyboarding/episode directing for both pokemon and other titles, like SAO and BNA.
>Creative Director: Daiki Tomiyasu
This guy is probably the most controversial. He's the director of gen 7 anime and was executive director of the production staff during gen 8-or was, until his resource management choices led to the production crashing in the middle of last year. He had to step down from the position and take the reins of the show directly. In the currently airing miniseries, the old executive director of gen 1-7 (Kunihiko Yuyama) came back to the role, and he stated in an interview recently that he and the series composition were basically running the whole show. The interesting thing is that Tomiyasu was basically groomed for the position over a period of years, but has essentially failed and was forced to take a step back. Now he's Creative Director, which is a major step back from the influence he used to have on the show. Essentially he'll be just giving a few ideas and making sure the new director stays on track. Fun fact, Yuyama was Creative Director during gen 8.
>Action Director: Tetsuo Yajima
This is major. The Action Director of the new series is the main director of the gen 6 series, which was widely acknowledged for its innovative action scenes and choreography. He also directed the two movies Power of Us and Koko. Yajima himself is a master storyboarder as well. His other work as a director (mainly writing and character decisions), is a lot more controversial, but with him firmly in the action portion, we can expect the battles to look amazing.
>Series Composition: Dai Sato
You guys were already talking about him, so I don't really need to add much; aside from the fact that he's a lot more well versed than nearly all of the current writers for Pokemon. Most of them ONLY write Pokemon, which is what led to the show being stale.
