I think being on 4chan, surrounded by people of a similar level of 'tism to oneself causes anons to be blinded to just how bleak things have gotten externally.
Unless you're speaking with a showdownfag or something who gets to the top of vgc ladders, chances are that person is barely managing to finish these games at the best of times. There are people out there who unironically struggled with fucking XY.
