Let it be known that this filename is the reason people still bring me up, despite not doing anything in awhile. And I was only trying to make the threads better by having people include OS/AG/DP/BW/XY/XYZ/SM/PM/MPM. I promise there's nothing wrong about talking about any past anime and just because "they're over" doesn't mean you can't talk about them. There's also all the times I tried to defend Serena/Amour from people who have been annoying to people who like them, which nowadays people obsessively bring me up whenever someone brings up Serena/Amour.

Nice to see Noibat getting some spotlight and learn a new move (Acrobatics), but I felt TR weren’t needed in the episode. I would prefer it to be a David & Goliath-like scenario.

Logistically, TCGs have to powercreep or they die, there's only so many people willing to buy the same card with a different name and drawing. But also they really become a turnoff for new players. This is a middle ground, the edgelords that need to win a match in two turns get their XYZ fusion Trans selective cross procedural megaevolvers of the hyperdimension. And dirt eaters get to play comfy hour-long games for fun with whatever those cards are in the set they chose to start playing in.
Not every card can be a winner, and if it was you'd have a real problem.

That's one of the things about XY/XYZ that I still question to this day, it really would have been the perfect moment to give him a Riolu/Lucario, especially since he even traveled with and befriended the character that uses one and, in the games, also gives the player a Lucario.
Hell, they didn't even need to give him a new 'mon to give him access to MegaEvos, what with him already having several 'mons that are capable of Mega Evolving or can obtain the ability to if they evolved.

The voice acting for TPCI Ash and Team Rocket has gotten better over the years, but the other characters are pretty bad. You can compare subbed vs dubbed clips of XYZ, and the dub is just awful because of characters like Serena and Clemont as well as a lot of the Pokémon sounding corny. Removing the Japanese BGM is also unforgivable when the series has always had a good musical score inspired by the games.

TPCI is such trash. I can’t believe kids today can stand to even watch the English dub. I watched some clips of the XYZ dub, and it was on the level of the shitty joke videos people would post on YouTube back in 2006 where they would dub over anime with their own scripts. At least 4kids was actually passionate about what they did even if they made some questionable decisions.

They have no idea what shipping hints and moments were like in Pokémon before that, since the OS and I'm pretty sure later seasons before XYZ rarely or never voiced the characters' inner thoughts.

Also count in fanfiction, merchandise, TCG stuff, Facebook/tumblr/DevinatArt groups etc.
The Japanese dub was never regarded as some golden standard for the Pokemon anime...because it's literally Pokemon. Not Bleach/SoulEater or some other serious anime like Inuyasha with le mystic kanji mystery names.
