Mistyfags are really bad with them thinking that Misty will ever win Ash considering it's been more than a decade since she left. That and their unwarranted hate of other girls, which is funny since Mayfags and Dawnfags tend to get along quite well.
But Serenafags are another level of delusion. They actually think that just because she kissed Ash (whether it was on the lips or on the cheeks it doesn't matter, it's clear that she kissed Ash), she has already won. They are either forgetting or ignoring the many other characters in Japanese media who had also kissed their crushes, but who ended up losing. That and Ash's reaction was more of shock than of romance, unlike the time when he blushed at a picture of Giselle. It's clear that the purpose of the kiss was for Serena to finally express her feelings to Ash, but more importantly, to give closure to her storyline. Although the writers may say some teasing words to placate the fanbase, it's clear that that is the intent, and any meaning beyond that is a stretch of the imagination at best.
