Turns out, this sense of adventure came from Kanto being a shithole full of crime with barely any working infrastructure and him having to fight for his life to make it through the gym challenge. This made his experience through other regions a breeze since not even places like Hoenn had a volcano fucking explode and erase the entire city built around it.
Neither him nor his lackeys have gone back to Kanto in a while so they believe it's a nice place for adventure like Hoenn, full of history like Sinnoh and Johto, and well developed like Unova and Kalos. A plot point could be him going back to Kanto and realizing how shit it is and evading the law so he can work into improving the region from the shadows after becoming a wanted international criminal from going around trying to make entire regions bow to the pokemon equivalent of a third world country.

Also, he has an unironically good team ala Cynthia made up of only kantomon and dresses like the gen 1 player character despite being like 30 years old.

-both have long disappeared. people still revere one (depending on the game) but believe the other was fake. the box legend awakens and starts wreaking havoc. the professor believes that the "fake" legend might be the key to stopping it and you go around the region to find clues. eventually in the climax you find it and use it to stop the other. it's superpowered or some shit like ultra necrozma to make it a tough boss fight. world saved.
-no gyms but you then beat the elite four and become champion. you can catch both in the post game.
>Who is the antagonist team and what is their motivation?
-some rebel group who want "justice" or whatever. initially pretty cool guy but they get taken over by someone who wants to control the other legendso you race him to it
>What is your gimmick for the gen? (I.E. Mega, Dmax, Regional Forms, US, etc...)
-it's all doubles. "fusion attacks" like z-moves, some pairs have special fusion attacks, like the starters and the legendaries.

Oak/SS Elesa/Leaf - Villa tank Mew is a classic but sync nuke Mew is underrated. The acc boosts on breathtaking synergize well with post sync Mew moves where you just fire off blizzards and then fire blasts. Watch out for that Masquerain though. Surprisingly the first no casualty 3v9.

Steven/Oak/Leaf* - I was playing this a couple of times and saw that a world of dreams never refreshed to realize that I still left it at sync nuke build, thinking about resetting it back to villa tank but then I just tried to fuck around and let it take the third sync and it actually made a way closer run. Blizzard made it way easier to take care of the sides while Metagross bangs its head on the bear, hoping to get that flinch before it giga impacts.
Today I get to Darach, so now I'll finally use the sand team

You need to remember this DLC was plainly stated to be the equivalent of the third versions, and what do THIRD VERSIONS mean in the world of nu-gamefreak?

1- Piss-easy battle facility that will not be able to fill the hole of a proper Frontier or PWT
2- A handful of new monsters (Slowpoke, Slowbro, The Regis, The bears, Calyrex, Slowking and the 3 birds already out-numbers the Pokemon added in USUM, so don't expect any more)
3- A way to capture all old legends (Tundra DLC covers that)
4- Shitty new story with shitty characters that can be done in 4 hours at most.

And we already know all of those things are in the DLC, so you can safely assume we know everything already.

I had an idea for a pokémon tactics game years ago where each pokémon family had an ultimate move that worked like limit breaks, and it would combine their two attacks that they were most known for or something to that effect. so for example mamoswine would get an ice quake. it's dumb but I remember thinking about it a long time back and it's something that would work, is technically canon to the anime, and doesn't necessarily break the world building of Pokemon. I just strongly feel that letting any Pokemon fuse with other Pokemon would just break that like sense of realism that they try to build in some respects.
