I actually did try to find meaningful hobbies, but literally nothing sticks. Over the past five years I've done/tried/taken painting lessons, acting classes, photography classes, tried learning two languages (and did one for 3 and a half years and the other for one), completed a whole college career, learned how to drive, learned how to swim, even took pilot lessons, etc. and yet everything made me feel "eh". I feel passionate for nothing, nothing motivates me, everything feels empty and like there isn't a point to anything I'm doing, like I'm just doing it because I have to. I feel you man. Everyone around me is getting married and having kids. Old acquaintances and family members. It wouldn't bother me so much of I didn't get constantly reminded of it by asking me when I'm going to get married. I've always been extremely introverted with no social skills so I don't think that will happen. At least my siblings can pass on the family genes.

Second, getting married isn't the end of life. Not everyone does everything in the same order, least of all today.I'm 26, I was in an almost 7 year relationship, and I dumped her. So glad I got out of that. I've seen plenty of my friends get married soooner than that. Don't think relationships make people happy.

I got out of a long term relationship last summer with the person I thought I was going to marry. I have been dating somewhat casually after that, but I was going to use this spring and summer to really go out, maybe join hiking groups and hobby groups, make some more friends and perhaps build an actual relationship again since I'm pretty much over my ex and just pissed at the wasted time.

You can enjoy nerd shit your whole life but don’t let it define your free time. I’m 24-years-old and a Pokémon anime and games fag but it’s not my only hobby or form of self. Get to writing stuff down and doing! By the way I’m a fag and the whole getting married shit is an easy checklist for people now a days. It should never be a life goal because it’s not really a heavy achievement. Find a bitch desperate enough and they marry.

Hell no. It's not that I'd like to get married solely to say I did, or for the status or simply to have anyone, whoever, by my side. Call me old fashioned, but I truly do believe in true and honest love, to find someone you genuinely care for and cares for you, who you can laugh with, be open with, share your struggles, be there for each other, etc. It actually makes me mad that people get married without really knowing the other, being led by passion alone and then blame it on the marriage when in reality they were the problem, or those who marry for frivolous reasons like money, it sickens me. I think only people who truly love each other should do it and that's what I strive for. Not as an achievement, not for the title, I yearn for a loving and lasting relationship with someone I can fully devote myself to for the rest of my life.
That being said, I do appreciate the rest of your post and the idea of having mini goals sounds more attainable and doable, so as to not pressure myself too much all of a sudden. I'll consider it, anon.
