Before Gen 5, it was "I really like this guy but it's a shame he's unusable"

I always liked his design/concept. Other pokemon in this category would be Vespiquen, Kecleon, Magcargo, and Ariados. Love the designs, but they suck as far as usability.

I have loved Sableye to death since 2003. He's been my favourite Pokemon since Ruby and Sapphire were released. I LOVE that finally, after years, he's finally picking up some popularity in the community (at least, in any communuity I've ever been a part of)

I'm actually in the process of using the Masuda Method to try breed a Shiny Sableye. A friend of mine imported White from Japan back before the games came out in north America. She traded me a female a little while ago.

I would guess that it would eat the gems on its stomach/back first. For the sake of argument let's say that they're gone, then yes it probably could/would eat it's own eyes to survive.
