It's more the fact that Honedge and Swirlix had wonderfully simple and pleasing designs, and in both cases they've become overly complicated in a way that doesn't even look good.

And indeed this whole gen has been taking good designs and making them shitty, or taking bad designs with good concepts and then ignoring them for something abstractly boring.

I still like Malimar and Tyrant but if I can't get a full team of six Pokemon that are different types and don't look like shite I may not even bother playing.

Spritzee's evo seems to be the most hated pokemon so far.

Mega evos are in battle only and for it to take place you apparently must have the correct item for the pokemon in your bag (or held, not sure actually). It activates on attack so a pokemon can be sent in activate it's normal ability and then mega evo. Mega evos usually give a new ability, buff a stat, change typing and give it a "mega form"
