Shit a week left and only 390k pre orders in NA. I thought this was the most hyped up game? If this doesn't sell is it over? Where did GF/Nintendo go wrong ;_;

Black and White came out at the VEEEEEEEERRY end of the console's lifespan so there was a much larger userbase.
That, and you HAD to buy Black and White physically. Pre Orders don't account for digital sales.

They have always made up their statistics. Sometimes they'll fix them if the publisher or groups like NPD release official statistics, but more often than not, they don't.

They have never been remotely credible.

There was the gen 6 console sales fiasco from like 7 years ago. What source do you have that says they make up their statistics? They claim it's based on aggregated sales data. Why should I believe otherwise?

The game has shit starters. And everyone knows the Starters are what sells a Pokemon game. That is the main reason Gens 3 and 5 did so bad.

One important factor is that Black/White were released on a console that was 6/7 years old (depending on the country's release date) and had sold over 140 million units at the time of release. The 3DS is only 2 years old and has only sold over 30 million units.
Another reason might be that other popular games are out right now that could be taking the spotlight for sales/pre-orders, such as GTA V.
