Is it just me or are a bunch of people finding shinies? It seems like they made it easier to find shinies, and also brining back poke radar. I think I remember Masuda saying back in an interview that shinies would be easier to obtain. Personally, I love it. What do you guys think?

Not him but I'm int he same situation as him.
I don't want a shiney because they look cool (very few do and most look like outright shit) but because it shows a huge dedication required to actually find one or just extreme luck. Either way it's a symbol of something pretty cool and a trophy.
Now it'll just be a puke colored pokemon that I'll never use.

I'm ok with this. All together i have probably logged in over 1 thousand hours in Pokemon and only manged to see 3 shiny Pokemon in the wild. People shouldn't have to bread over 6,000 mons just to get a shiny.

I have 10 legit shinys in my box, the only ones I actually used were Electrode, Quagsire, Accelgor I am lucky since I played every game until I beat the elite 4. tbh i believe the only reason most of the people never get shinies is because of repel, I never use it.

I even lost 2 legit shinies one being a gastly that used curse in Diamond and the other one being a wrumple in saphire that appeared in the wild before I had pokeballs.

Getting shinies was so easy back in DPP, with the pokeradar chaining. Outside of that though I think I've only encountered 2-3. It's good they've increased the probability. Maybe I'll actually bother trying to hatch them now.

Shiny base chance needs to be something like 1/128.

There are already way too many random factors outside that like IVs and Nature, so getting a GOOD shiny would still be very hard.

In our shiny weekend threads, we get like 5 shinies found a day.

Only reason it feels like there is so many shinies all of a sudden is because everyone's eyes are on the people playing, who are showing everything they run into because they wanna' be the first to show what a Pokemons shiny looks like.

Don't get your hopes up for finding a shiny when you guys play. Unless you're using the Poke Radar of course.

Gold: Psyduck (cloned it to get a shiny Golduck also)

Pearl: Snover (by breeding)

You have to remember that things devalue over time, whether it's forced or naturally. The more time passes, the more there will be of something. The more there is of something, the less valuable it will be.

So really, making them easier to get is just accelerating this process. Pokemon is an old franchise now and people who have played it for years really do not even care about shinies anymore due to how rare they are.

The only reason value is placed on Shiny Pokémon is because they are a rare occurrence. Making them a one-in-one hundred thing would make them worthless. It'd make many of them less desirable because a lot of the color schemes aren't actually appealing at all. There's no reason to make them common. It's like saying everyone should be a million dollars richer, nobody actually gains anything because everyone's still just as wealthy as everyone else and the millions of dollars become worthless because suppy and demand 'n shit.

I keep the shiny pokemon that I run into randomly separate from the ones I chained.

I'm that guy who uses color coordinated teams when I'm not going on simulators, and some of my favorite pokemons alternate color fits differently at times(like my shiny fucking PURPLE Pinsir)

That said, I love my random shinies, but I never use them. I also never name any of them just so they're separate from all of my nicknamed mons.

There are ordinary Pokemon with that encounter rate. You have an eight times lower chance of finding a Pokemon with 31 IV and a boosting nature in any given stat.
It's an entirely aesthetic random bonus for people with the luck to find one. It has no affect on gameplay in any way, unlike much more likely things like a Critical Capture or even less likely things like PokéRus. There's no reason to feel so strongly about this.

Once you reach 40 pokemon chained you'll find a shiny every 100 pokeradar resets.

That's one pokemon at a time. With hordes you can see 6-8 per reset, accelerating the process.

I found my first catchable shiny earlier this week in Black 2. A shiny lillipup at floccesy ranch.

The only ones I have ever found before were a pidgey in Fire Red on route 1, before you get pokeballs, and in Platinum, when Lucas was showing me how to catch a bidoof, and it was a fucking shiny bidoof.
