I took my Blue version to show and tell in kindergarten. Started the craze for the kids in my grade. Went away after gen II though. Sucked playing Ruby with the only other kid in my class who played, since he was kind of a creep [drooled a lot, kept his hands in his mouth most of the time]. I got back into the TCG two years ago and entered a tournament and he was there. We got paired up against each other and he just let me set up my Gothitelle/Reuniclus. I won 6-0.

Mah nigga. Well, this technically was one of my first since I bought one of the starter decks containing this. You can tell it is an old card from the thin lettering near the HP. I have a couple other cards like this, including a Zapdos. I have some cooler cards, promos and such, but these were my first.

I don't have any pokeman cards anymore though.
I never knew how to play and I traded all my cards for Yugioh. A lot of the Yugioh crap I still have, but being old cards they're mostly bad now besides staples.

Original Charmander and Charmeleon card, still have it.
Vensaur was my first holofoil or golden or w/e you kids call it these days, in my first booster. and I still got it.

I only collected for 3 gens missing around 30 cards for a complete collection before gen 4 was announced

Shiny Nidoqueen. It was pretty nice. While later got another pack. Shiny Nidoqueen.
Over the course of a year I got about 5 packs of Jungle and every single one had Shiny Nidoqueen. You'd think this would be good, but it wasn't. No one wanted these fuckers. Every kid wanted Zards and Mewtwo and standard SO COOOOOL Pokemon.

Nope. The "no shadow" cards are actually the printing that immediately followed First Edition. The real First Edition had such a limited run that it was sold out everywhere well before most people even knew the game existed. As a result, a lot of people have never seen a first edition Base card in person (Machamp doesn't count).

I own a handful of them that I've picked up over the years.
