I use it every so often on my rain team. It's not the best mega, but it can get the job done. Plus it's not too shabby bulk-wise, and it can take care of those pesky Rotom-Ws with Mold Breaker EQ.

Mega Heracross is just too strong not to be good. With Sticky Web support, it's nearly unbeatable. It has the highest attacking stat of anything besides Mega Mewtwo X and Y, and beyond that is only surpassed by Mega Mawile and Mega Medicham.

I actually really like using Mega Venusaur on Battle Spot. I used to use tanky Saur a lot in gen V random matchup, and Megasaur is such a tremendous improvement it's unbelievable. Cockbloking DrumJet Azumarill and Breloom is also a very nice bonus.

True, but I find the power boost Mega-Gary gets can be a gamechanger, even without a DD under his belt. Losing his 4x Electric weakness is a lifesaver as well.

Unfortunately while you're only 2x weak to Elec now, you're also weak to fighting and bug (which you once resisted) as well as fairy and grass (which you were neutral to). And you're no longer immune to ground. It does get a ghost resist at least.

It depends on the situation obviously, but isn't trading an almost-certain KO from any Electric attack for a few new weaknesses a (relatively) good thing? That plus the added bulk gives him more opportunities to set up and/or deal some damage.

I understand your viewpoint anon, its just that in practice (for myself at least), I found the new array of weaknesses to be a greater problem. Not being able to switch into a Ground/Fighting move primarily, especially as he no longer has Intimidate to take the edge off.

Fair enough. Honestly, I don't think I've fought many people with Fighting-types lately, and the only pokemon who I can remember OHKOing mine was an Azumarill with Play Rough, though he did take a Solarbeam from a Ninetales pretty well.

Band heracross is perfectly viable because it can come in, launch an attack, and then escape if the opponent is faster without taking recoil, whereas the flame orb set is forced to flee but slowly kills itself, and anything with protect shaves 12% of its life anytime it wants.

Nobody talks about how shitty the Rock-type is, especially when paired with Ground or Steel. Next to Ice, it's one of the worst.

coming off the inflated parental bond, yes, it does kick the crap out of anything. It has the highest unboosted effective attack of any pokemon save for mega mawile, and mega medicham. Who cares if it doesnt resist anything, it has 105/100/100 defenses which let it easily sponge weaker attacks, and is nearly impossible to OHKO thus it can plow through attackers that it itself cant outspeed and OHKO. On top of that it has fake out and sucker punch for priority!

MEga kangaskhan is the very best unchoiced attacker in OU, it has no counters due to movepool, and is hard to check because of priority and bulk.

Do you honestly think that return cant OHKO plenty of pokemon? Do you honestly think that it cant 2HKO nearly any physically defensive mon?

He only has an equivalent of 125 attack with choice band, except he doesn't have to use it. On top of that, his STAB doesn't hit anything SE. Lots of stuff can take it, like every bulky water. And his power up punch nonsense is blocked by any Ghost. Sucker Punch? I'll just stall that shit out.
