Eric Stuart's James is one of my favorite things about the older dub.

"Dat outfit... where'd he get it?"
"I think that costume came right out of his closet..."
Then there's
"To protect us from all that chafing and itching!"
"It might finally stop all of Jessie's, er, complaining..."
That writer would be pretty good stripped of 4Kids' constraints, although they'd still have the newer voice cast reading the lines, which wouldn't be all that hot.
Now the show is just a bunch of out-of-place slang that I've never heard a ten-year-old kid say with relative frequency. None of the kids I encounter say "I'm PSYCHED!" and stuff like that. Eee-yuck.
