With Plusle and Minun, I was talking about the stuff that was all about double battles, a gimmick that, as you may or may not have noticed, played very little part in the game in Gen 3. If nearly all battles had consisted of double battles, and single battles had been the norm, it would have been a bit more justifiable, but in general, there weren't enough times for it to matter.

the eon duo were a great combination of a jet and a dragon.

We also had the Shuppet, Duskull, Roselia, Wailmer, Snorunt, Carvanha, Cacnea and Corphish lines introduced that were among my favorites.

Only ones I really didn't like are Nosepass, Skitty, Gulpin line and Luvdisc, apart from that I think all the other designs are great. But in comparison to other gens, gen3 has more pokemon that are overall appealing towards me.

the lati@s being based on aeons and lookign similar is supposed to be related to the fact that the aeons where put into pairs called syzgies, which where pairs of one male and one female god like entity. It can be deduced that the pairs likely had some form of godlike intercourse going by gnostic lore, sine they "emanated" together. I dont know about you but im pretty damn sure that things that are able to fuck arent going to look to damn different

And I see no reason to hate on Dedenne, yes it shares the same color scheme but they are still very different

Delphox looks great, it has the flaming wand, mage robes, and its face does not look the same as Fennekin, how about you make a better fire mage pokemon?
He suffers the fate of not looking good as a 3d model (much like Archeops) look at him in fan art, the anime and sugamori art and its ten times better

The bit about mid evos was just Quilladin, it was pretty darn bad

The gen 6 starters where based on rpg archetypes. Know what else uses rpg archetypes than westerners? Jrpgs

Know what they couldve done? Given it a robe that doesnt look like patch work. Know what else mages tend to wear? a rope aorund the waist to hold the robe in place. A goddamned flaming belt wouldve cool. Mages dont use twigs as staffs, staffs are highly ornamented and carved and generally have more of a club like shape on a long pole arm. Hell, they couldve given it a steepled hat. What that, to human like? Well fuck it make it have a battle mode "hat" made of goddamned fire not unlike typhlosions flaming quills

Much, much more couldve been done to make it a better design. its pretty damn clear that chesnaught and greninja did more than just put animals in clothes and tended to make them more stylized, why the hell couldnt they do the same with delphox?

The anime was originally pretty distinct from the games. From what I've seen now (very little) it seems like the anime tries to very clumsily include aspects of the games. Listening to dialogue during battles is suffering.

Nah, Y sprite still looks goofy. GSC is kind of goofy, RSEFRLG looks similarly goofy, DP looks cool, HGSS look okay, BW looks goofy.

Like seriously, outside of red (which still looks a touch goofy), the designs look like they've been getting LESS goofy for dnite.

Yeah, Gen 3 had some pretty awesome Pokemon designs. Then again, every generation has some great Pokemon designs. Gen 5 and Gen 6 have some of my favourites though.

Welp, I guess I don't exist anymore. I seriously don't understand the hate towards Delphox, I think it's awesome and probably my favorite Fire-type starter. It's a nice breeze of fresh air by being a feminine Pokemon after five angry masculine Fire starters and especially those three Fire/Fighting physical attackers.

Delphox is probably hated because it doesn't appeal to little boys in the same way that Charizard and Blaziken do.

I've been playing since '98 with Red, Blue, and Yellow, so I'd consider myself a geewunner. However, I have to admit that from a design standpoint, the Pokemon themselves have been getting better and better each gen. I'd say Gen 3 had the biggest artistic shock because Gen 1 and 2 both had simplistic designs, but it was Gen 3 that really started out the whole complex and interesting design choices. Four improved upon Gen 3's designs and Gen 5 just really blew them all out the water. Pretty much every pokemon from Gen 5 looks cool. I really like Gen 6's Pokemon as well, but some of the Mega Evolutions just look like the artists went a tad overboard. I will say this is the first gen where I've been genuinely impressed with ALL THREE starting pokemon.
