So I really dig the Funbro build and I absolutely want to do it.

Slowbro @ Leppa Berry
Regenerator
252 HP/ 80 Def/ 176 SDef
-Recycle
-Heal Pulse
-Slack Off
-Substitute/Disable/Whatever

My concern is getting Slowbro Recycle right now. Is it possible or do I have to wait for the bank to open up?

funbro needs block to be fun, otherwise you're just burning turns while your opponent sets up and heal pulse serves no function.

The idea is to keep my opponent from killing himself, this way he's just locked into battle until he DCs, and it's really only supposed to be done once your opponent is down to his last Pokemon anyway, so Block is kind of pointless in that regard.

But still. Recycle. I don't see how it's possible in-game right now.

Recycle is a 5th gen tutor move, you can't breed/catch one in x/y until bank.
Wifi battles have a 30 minute timer, so battles will never last infinite turns on Wifi.

I think he meant Block for the 4th move.
Some people actually stay in on a slowbro mid game, and the set works.

This is true. That 30 minutes does limit how long Funbro can stall for, but I'd wager most people wouldn't be willing to wait a whole 30 minutes for a battle, plus I can always let them struggle themselves to death near the end of the 30 minutes.

FunBro was banned, mainly due to the activity of /vp/'s ShowDerp, which insisted on using it and spreading the word on it.

Thus the combination of moves and Leppa Berry is now banned.

Hardly.
Wifi isn't showdown, and battle animations cannot be turned off.
By the time you start to get one of the opponent's pokemon moves to 0 the battle would be over.

Iv'e lost one time because the timer ran out while having a +6/+6 stored power clefable that was about to out-pp a Recover mewtwo.
