Oh hell yes. I fucking love Marowak.
His stats and movepool make him basically baby groudon. And he cleans house on a trick room team, especially in doubles battles.
His appearance and the fact that Cubone and Kangaskhan are both only found in glittering cave imply it's a baby Kangaskhan who's mom died. And it gets that awesome miniboss battle at the top of pokemon tower.

I love Mismagius's design and it has some pretty good status...but no real movepool and nothing to take advantage of that special attack besides TM moves. At least she gets Nasty Plot from Spiritomb, I guess?

Also Spiritomb. Great typing, great design, solid defenses, kind of middling otherwise.

Cause you know from Marhstomp that he will have a weirder final stage judging he is bipedal mudskipper, so Swampert isn't really a bad design since it retains connection with the first two stages. For Sceptile though, look at treeko and groovyle you would expect it to be a sleeker and more smaller design but instead GF gives you fucking green barney

the truth is i love the shit out of gen 1 and from my eyes a lot of the pokemon designs afterwards are retarded. i think they're either over designed or have random shapes and colors on them that make no sense or serve no purpose. i think these design flaws afflict rayquaza. also the name is total shit, it's ridiculous. i understand that this is totally subjective and im not trying to convert anyone, but you can't say no one dislikes rayquaza. also not implying gen 1 was perfect, it has wack designs too, just not as many.

Honestly, it wouldn't, its attachments make it work. i just started paying attention to pokemon again recently, i havent played any of the new games after gold/silver, but i will when i quit being a brokefag. and yes, there are plenty of pokemon designs after mew i like. a few of my favorites: togekiss, milotic, gourgeist, galvantula, mightyena, mismagius, mega banette, sharpedo, crawdaunt, metagross, lilligant, cinccino, hydreigon, rampardos, plus a bunch from gen2.
