We're trying to enjoy a meal in some restaurant while it rains outside, and a fight breaks out: two people get into a heated Pokemon battle, quite literally since they both use Fire types. All of a sudden,
Yancy becomes enthralled into this intense battle that happens nearby. She gets fired up, she's excited, she even wants to partake in a Pokemon battle herself. Meanwhile, my Pokemon are at the ready just in case they decided to challenge us next. Incidentally, I've got a Gallade with me.
To tie this into the lyrics,

There is no good dating to be had with this. I have failed my own prompt. This is the opposite of a good date.
This is Sycamore showing up at my doorstep in tears and telling me he doesn't think there's any reason to carry on living- specifically because he feels like I'm driving him away on purpose and never listen to him, when in reality, I just have asshole friends who think I'm better off without some dude hanging all over me.
We probably spend the night on my couch crying, yelling at each other, and discussing various times we felt like life wasn't worth living- going through two boxes of tissues in the process and being warmed up via Pyroar.
