Even WITHOUT NATURES, IVs, EVs, and such, they still have base stats and movepools. Infernape always outspeeds all of the trio and has Super Effective moves on both, just barely lacking the power to KO Torterra's defenses without items. Torterra can otherwise sweep with good bulk and Super Effective EQs despite being so slow its always last.
Empoleon has the worst level up movepool that conflicts with its stat spread (physical moves with good Special Attack), and each of the other mons hit with physical moves against Empoleon's bad defense.
Basically, Empoleon is the last mon of the trio to win, competitively or with your arbitrary deathbattle rules.
