Have they? I didn't know. The only games I own for the 3DS are Pokemon X and AC and somehow I missed out on in game events like this.

I know Wild World had a thing like it too but I didn't stick too long for it because I found it boring.

Think about it this way, anon

if you're having a shitty enough birthday that you are more or less resigned to playing pokemon alone in your room, at least the game can make you feel special, just for that one day.

Yeah, in earlier pokemon games you just got a greeting from the pokemon center, I think.

DQ9 is the only one I can think of that actually breaks the game for you, leading many people to perpetually set the date to their birthday for rare item grinding.
