I don't really like fire types, none of them are really appealing. I think Charizard and Typhlosion are just bland, Blaziken has that stupid hair, and those horrendous legs, Infernape and Emboar are (prepare for buzzword) over designed with that excessive white and black with the gold plating or whatever it is. And Delphox is fine, but its stiff model and ear fur are just off putting.
I like Samurott because of its moustache and it's in-game cry, I don't see why /vp/ resents it, I can't stand Oshawott or Dewott (better than Tepig and Snivy in my opinion). I also like that Samurott can go bipedal too but stays quadrupedal for idle stance.
With Meganium, well it was my first starter and I think it's immensely cute, cuter than Feraligatr or Typhlosion, so there is the nostalgia factor of that's dismissible in any way. I don't understand why /vp/ hates Meganium either, apart from the first few gyms in Johto it's fine. As with Chesnaught I stuck with Chespin since the start, and Chesnaught became a bro in-game, the first mammalian grass starter makes it appeal much more too. Hoping for a terror bird next gen, if the idea that grass starters are prehistoric creatures.
I never liked Greninja, upon first leaking I hoped it was a fake, those pointy 'ears' with the webbing in between are unappealing and the tongue scarf is horrific - it looks better without the scarf from the Diancie movie screenshot I've seen. The permanent shuriken markings are a bit stupid, because they might just be there for no reason if Greninja doesn't know WS.
