Problem with that is based on some rumours on Wes' fate after Coliseum.

Word has it that Wes wasn't really a good guy and that after beating the last dude, he decided to take over Cypher and be the new boss. I guess because that felt like such a swerve, Genius Sonority decided to just quietly ditch Wes and Rui and go to a whole new plot.

The original plot to Gale of Darkness was Wes was only collecting all the Shadow Pokemon and demolishing Cipher so he could rule Orre only to be stopped by Michael the protagonist of GOD.

This was changed because they wanted Pokemon to be mostly lighthearted

which is stupid because from Gen 3 and onward someone at GF is trying to add story to a game that nobody fucking gives a shit about in that department
