Caught a Sandshrew and a lot more sacrificial box mons.
Rattata learned Hyper Fang which has been deadly so far.
Spearow wiped Bugsy's team, none of his Pokemon stood a chance and the rival battle straight after was surprisingly easy, Totodile slowly took out Gastley, Rattata Hyper Fanged Zubat to death and Spearow slaughtered his Bayleef.
Got my Cut and Charcoal for helping that little shit catch his Farfetch'd and now I'm On my way to Golden Rod City.

I should probably add it to the rules to avoid people asking but I like to give nicknames to Pokemon based on moments in the Nuzlocke or just things that come to mind while I play.
Terrible at names in the first place and it's hard to come up with one I like on the spot so I just think of one while I'll play and it'l usually be more meaningful.
I pretty much just stole this idea from an anon a few threads back.

Got an odd egg from the day-care couple.
Beat every possible trainer before I challenged the 3rd Gym.
Whitney was pathetic, sent out Sandshrew, spammed Defence Curl until maxed out, killed the Clefaiy, used poison sting on Miltank until poisoned and then spammed Dig until victory.
AND THEN right after I beat the gym, Sudowoodo killed my newly evolved Croconaw and Rattata, while I was trying to catch it. I never knew what flail was so good and how hard Sudowoodo is to catch until today, but that's okay, my favourites are still alive so I'm just going to move on.
Caught a Growlithe on Route 35 and the odd egg was a Tyrouge! Does anyone know how evolving Tyrouge works in Gen 2? I have no idea.

Tyrogue evolves at level 20. If attack is higher than defense you will get Hitmonlee. If defense is higher than attack you will get Hitonchan. If they are equal you will get Hitmontop. Also evolve that Spearow man, Bellsprout, and Sandshrew. They're all so close to evolving.

I started a nuzlocke a while back. So far the only one I have won is a Y Wonderlocke, so I'm going for something a little more difficult. No losses so far but my pokemon keep critting my area catches.

Different areas are decided by change of name.

Some make an exception for pinwheel forest due to how different the interior/exteriors are from one another, but never for caves.

It's definitely against Nuzlock rules.

Choice is not really a factor in Nuzlockes, less so in randomizers.

Shitty draws are just part of a challenge, and finding bros among what you used to consider shitmons is a great joy.

Spent all my time playing this just levelling up my team and evolving them.
I tried to make Tyrouge a Hitmonchan but gave up. I was happy with either chan or top anyway.
Going to get Eevee from Bill soon and I was planning on getting it and evolving it into Umbreon so I can take out Morty without trouble but it looks like that'll take too long. Going to have to rely on Arcanine's Bite.
I'm also not too sure if I should evolve Weepinbell. Learns Razer Leaf at 42 which is only slightly better then Vine Whip so It might be better to evolve it now, not sure.

You're pretty much only going to be using it for Sleep Powder and Acrobatics in-game unless you edit it for muh Egg moves.
You could say muh U-turn, but mementum isn't really a thing in-game. There's Leech Seed, but how often do you get advantage from stalling the fucking AI?
Jumpluff can do some shit in Doubles, I guess, but it's even shittier than it used to be competitively because of things like Safety Goggles and Grass immunity to Sleep Powder, as well as lack of a Flying Gem.
Mix in the shit stats outside of Speed and a 4x weakness to Ice Shard and es mierda.

Poisonpowder/Memento/Swords Dance/Giga Drain is sounding pretty strong to me, friend :^ )
You can use whatever you want, sure, but that just reduces potential of the Pokemon. In a Nuzlocke, your goal is to complete the game, so bogging yourself down like that is stupid. In a standard run, it doesn't matter.

Good thing Jumpluff's job is being prime sac fodder, so Memento is incredibly good for it.
I understand making sure the set can work with what the Pokemon has is key, but it's already shit to begin with. Jumpluff, by design, is pretty much set up to get in and get the fuck out of there. Just look at the stats, then think about a Naughty nature slapped onto it. Giving it more opportunity to die with something like Swords Dance is str8 stupid.

I've done two Nuzlocke challenges before, Sapphire and Diamond, both which failed mid-game. Recently finished a regular run through Y and decided I wanted to play through best gen, but this time with the addition of heartbreak and sadness!

I always thought the one pokemon per location rule was stupid. You still end up with too many pokemon on your team too quickly to form a bond with them. I propose that you can only catch 1 pokemon per gym, but you can pick whatever you want. Anything available before Brock + starter pokemon = morefun than having 3 caterpies.

1. I just arrived in Dewport and my team is full. There's no one I want to replace right now, but if I happen to catch an Aron in Granite Cave I may think about swapping it with my Nincada. Is it possible to swap Pokémon from my team with the box? Or do you usually stick to what you have until someone dies?

2. Speaking of my Nincada: Can I temporarily box something when it's about to evolve so I can get Shedinja? And is Shedinja affected by the one mon per location rule?

I did an Emerald nuzlocke once. When I dived underwater to hopefully add a chinchou to my party, instead of clamperl, I ended up encountering a relicanth as my first pokemon. it was a great help against all of one gym (the twins solrock and lunatone), and that was about it. Still, I was happy I caught something rare, and in a nuzlocke, no less. /blog

I'm going to have to up my knowledge before attempting a nuzlocke. I thought I could waltz in to sacred gold and have no trouble, but I guess its a been a few more years than I thought since I last played pokemon. If I were nuzlocking this run, it would already be over.

But, I'm pretty proud of my team so far. Rate don't hate.

I feel kind of edgy for having all these dragon/dinosaur feeling pokemon, but they are my 3 favorite starters. Jolteon has always been my favorite Eeveelution based purely on an episode from the anime I saw 20 years ago. Gabite is fucking cool, Dragon/Ground is a unique combo.
