If it weren't for this picture that i keep around for threads like this i honestly wouldn't remember this mistake. Chimecho sure i remember that. James had one in the anime and it's a cute fucker. But this baby Pokemon for it is shit and honestly i don't see why it even exists.

Whenever I do the Sporcle quizzes for each gen, I always forget Spoink and Grumpig. I forget them so much I remember them now because of of how forgettable they are.

This also happened with Corsola, and most of the mid-late game Gen 5 'mons. Also, almost the entirety of Gen 6, since most of them are shitty, or fairy, or both, so my mind tries to make me forget about their existence. You'd think I'd at least be able to get 30/70 of the most recent generation, but damnit, the Pokemon are so bad.

Little bitch died more than my Meditite, even after it evolved around level 25. Hell, Roselia was pulling more weight.

Once I got a Magmortar and taught it Psychic, Chimecho became useless. If only it actually got a usable evolution.

I do, all the time. I love Slugma and Magcargo. Some of my favorite fire types. I wish they'd get an evolution. Hopefully they don't get a mega evolution until they get a 3rd stage.

Yes, it's acctually one of my favourite fire-pokemon. But you're right that most people don't really care about it. I guess it's the stats combined with two 4x weaknesses. One being water, which is very common and not very cool for a slow mon with so little HP.

I remember using him all the time in emerald when I was younger, though, so i'm planning on using him for ORAS

Chingling was introduced to rectify some issues with Chimecho, namely the catch rate.

Chimecho is the last indexed mon in RS, and the only one not in the correct spot . Given it shares its motif with Jirachi I've always assumed it was planned to be the mirage Pokemon for Gen 3, but ended up being shafted for a more universal design.

But leave the Metang-tier catch rate? Even if I found a Chimecho in the wild I would never bother catching it because it isn't worth the hassle. Chingling makes the species accessible.

To the best of my knowledge no game has ever altered existing catch rates, so the only option is to give the player a free handout or extend the evolutionary tree.

I always thought the Sealeo was the most aesthetically pleasing. Spheal is hands-down the cutest pokemon in existence, but even though Walrein's my bro, I always thought that the design wasn't the best.

Interesting to see if he gets a mega, because I'm not really sure what else you could do with Walrein to make it more 'mega' looking

What are you talking about? Gen 6 had a lot of awesome designs and good pokemon. Heliolisk, noivern, hawlucha, gogoat, trevenant, gourgeist, greninja, talonflame, aegislash, avalugg, clawitzer, malamar and tyranrum are all good pokes. I think they definitely went for quality over quantity this gen
