xy had poor postgame, otherwise it was the best pokemon iteration yet, featuring full 3d graphics, freedom from strictly 4 directional movement, poke amie to feed the adorable side, the addition of friend safaris, improved online functionality, mega evolutions, fairy type to improve balance, etc.

no other generation brought this much innovation to the franchise.

Would /vp/ agree that the ultimate safari zone would include both versions?

I normal safari zone that we've been used to but only has like 3-5 base Pokemon available. Then based on your FC (or however it's done) you can add people and their Pokemon will show up in new areas of your Safari zone.

I'm secretly hoping this is how the ORAS zone will work.

The problems with XY were the rushed second half, no postgame and low number of new pokemon. Despise that, it was a pretty solid game.
I also fear that ORAS will suck, because They are apparently removing great XY additions, like customization, and I really don't like the graphic direction they chose to go with. They are trying to stay too much faithful to the originals and everythig is looking so square, unnatural and kinda bland. Too much for a tropical region.
Hoenn is a region with many environments and a lot of potential, but I'm not seeing that potential being used to the max.
Please prove me wrong and surprise me, Game Freak.

Nigger, I will fight you. It is not hard to ask for pacing that isn't utter garbage (They showed that they can do good pacing in the stretch between gyms 1 and three) gyms that could challenge something other than an inbred 3 year old with down syndrome. I know they want easy games but challenge mode really is not a hard thing to implement. Tossing in more then 70 goddamn pokemon would be nice, though I understand the megas, in essence, needed everything making a new mon had short of a movepool, there were still only like ~20 megas on release.

If it's a fucking shallow shell of what Pokémon is with no events, then yeah. It sucks in my book. Contests are kinda boring, and poke blocks in all honesty might not return. There's a lot of changes between each Pokémon game, and usually all of them are good, but never appear again. Walking with your Pokemon was insanely cool, and never returned. Hell, even the Pokenav was pretty cool, but that got replaced by the watch in D/P/Pt.

I know they try to keep things "fresh", but Jesus fuck does Gamefreak hate money.

X and Y did many things for the series, but you can't let that blind you from the fact that plot wise, character wise, cutscene wise and post game wise, ORAS outshines it. And they haven't even come out yet. Of course ORAS will be better, X and Y were GF's first try on a 3ds.

That BW2 was very story driven, and it felt like a really good plot and all. Most people disagree cuz it's a pokemon game and in general game standards, it was mediocre, but in pokemon standards i loved it and it's why it ranks so high in my book, too.

Ithere was this rush of excitement that i didnt had in a long time playing a game
Postgame sucked balls but the graphics was what made it so much fun

Agreed. I like that it had some somewhat real world problems. They addressed that Emma had no education, and that Looker needed to pay rent for his office.

It was much more grounded than most Pokemon stories are, while still being in the world of fiction and fun to play through.

It also made me feel like I was playing a good episode of the anime, like the villain arc episodes.
