Nah, I'm expecting it to go at least RU, which quite honestly is fine by me. It might even be viable in UU.
Pidgeot is a whole nother tale, though. No Guard helps basically only one move, it's a one trick pony with weakness to Stone Edgy, Thunder, Blizzard and even Rock Slide. Still, maybe if GF gives it new moves, it might fall in RU or something.

This is why megas are shit. M-Scizor has stats exceeding box legends while M-sableye still has stats worse than most ordinary pokemon.

I will rather have some diverse Megas than slapping on on of the 5% best abilities and change their typing just to make them viable.

Both those Megas are very good in my opinion. Both are 2nd stage(as in basic->1st->2nd) evolution and can't evolve further. Both stay true to their original designs. No weird retyping to make them interesting, nearly unique and good. No super OP ability to push them into top tier mons.

It can be decent, just not amazing. Seriously, what else are you going to do with it besides spamming Hurricane and U-turning when things go sour? I guess you can use it for Defog.

GF will probably throw Pidgeot a bone and give it some better moves to abuse with no guard. The gen1 rat, kangaroo, bull and pink blob(s) can generate blasts of fire, thunder, ice and fighting energy, so why not the gen1 burd?
