It's like they took the bad parts of Salamance's design and said, "Alright team, let's make this 500 times worse".

Druddigon's shiny is the color of the Irish Flag (Green, white, Orange)

Druddigon itself is based on the Irish Dragon Deity Crom Cruach or Cromm Crúaich he was propitiated with human sacrifice and his worship was ended by Saint Patrick.

Crom (or cromm) can mean "bent, crooked, Jagged Rough" While Cruach (or crúach) means Blood, Gory, or "bloody head"

I'm of the opinion that Druddigon is actually pretty cool on it's own right but just completely outclassed in every way by both Haxorus and Hydreigon. Why use Drud when Haxorus exists? I like their designs more too, but that's purely subjective.

At the very least Druddigon could have been Rock/Dragon or something. Give it a niche, at least.

it's a gargoyle that absorbs sunlight through them, read the pokedex entries. if it doesn't get enough sunlight, it can't move.

Stealth Rock, Glare, Bulky Rough Skin, Fire Punch, Sucker Punch. It's effectively bulkier since it doesn't have to invest in speed like Haxorus does, and can pull off an Assault Vest set as well. It's not outclassed by Haxorus because it's completely different from Haxorus.

Haxorus is as physically bulky as Druddigon.

The latter has a better movepool and set of abilities, though. Haxorus wishes it had Fire Punch and Gunk Shot, plus Sheer Force to boost them.
