I just arrived in Dewford and I plan to get a Mawile.
I heard to get it though, you have to have the acro bike and use it in Granite Cave.

Was it like that in Ruby back then? I don't remember having to use the acro bike at all for Mawile.

Swampert (mudkip starter)

Shiftry (never used one of these but I saw it got some move updates between x&y and ORAS)

Metagross (special event shiny. Need I say more?)

Camerupt (another bro I never got to use back in the day.)

I know right now he team lacks a dedicated special attacker and wall, as well as also has a weakness to fighting type. Minus hm slaves who should I fill the last two spots with?

I also have a bit of a ground weakness too. Gardevoir would help against fighting and give me some much needed special attacking power. What about Crobat? I know he's a johto bro but he gives me another fighting resist and a ground immunity. I've never used milotic though or sharpedo, I hear there's new surf animations.

I bit the bullet and used a Japanese Slowpoke I got from wondertrade (named Yadon and everything) who was bold with 2-3 perfect IVs, and I don't regret it.

I often use Crobat, and I normally get him a level after Golbat if I've had him since early game (level 10 and under). I do a lot of running around though which probably helps.

Doesn't matter though, some people like having a balanced party and that rpg-ish feel of your entire party gaining exp even if they didn't fight.

The responses to EXP ALL thing bugs me even though I know it's just shitposting. To me, higher opponent levels would just call for more grinding, which doesn't really increase 'difficulty', just time spent leveling up... which is not how I want to spend most of my time revisiting Hoenn.

Higher levels =/= increased difficulty. If GF wanted to increase difficulty, they could strengthen opponent AI, increased AI item use - stuff like that.

But yeah, however you want to play. Everyone plays differently.

Purposefully not leveling up to even implement a minor challenge should not even have to be the case. GF skips out on so many opportunities to make their primary property, and one of the biggest worldwide, a more engaging and challenging experience.

Besides, the AI is complete shit, anyone would win anyway. I'd rather get the battles over and done with rather than doing less damage and taking more time due to not leveling up. But I respect your stance, that's fine. Just my 2 cents too.

It's not even that though. Just go through the game normally without the exp. all. I'm not saying that I avoid trainer fights, but just going through normal fights without grinding will leave you underleveled, not so much that it feels like an unwinnable battle, but more so that you have to use skill to overcome the level difference.

you can use soar from anywhere outside and without lati@s in your team

so just set eon flute to a key item when you get it and you can soar to anywhere in the game as long as you've visited, much more enjoyable than fly in my opinion

Dusclops can wall for days, but can't hurt niggas back however.
Flygon is a decent Jack of All Trades Pokemon. You get TM Earthquake in the Seafloor Cavern.

You can catch a Taillow with Brave Bird with Dexnav. I haven't personally, and my Swellow is lv24 so can't tell you much more, but its animations are cool. You get Steel Wing TM early too which is useful. Taillow learns Aerial Ace early too.

Altaria is Natural Cure, Hyper Voice.

Carvanha is Speed Boost, Destiny Bond.

Hoopa I'm mostly just keeping around to see if it reverts after three days like the event text said. I plan on replacing it with Snorunt later on.
